Class Description

It’s always fun to paint pets because they show so much emotion in their faces. In this class, we’ll capture that heartfelt expression as we paint a close-up of an adorable Yorkshire Terrier in oils.

This lesson is perfect for artists who want to explore painting realistic fur and expressive eyes without getting overwhelmed by fine detail.

🎨 What You’ll Learn in This Class:

📸 Cropping for Drama – Learn how to use a tight composition to add emotional impact and draw the viewer right into the eyes of your subject.
🐾 Three-Step Fur Technique – Discover a simple yet effective method for creating the illusion of soft, flowing fur without needing to paint every individual hair.
✨ Painting Sparkling Eyes – Master the techniques for capturing lifelike eyes that feel full of emotion and depth.
🎨 Background Adjustment – See how to alter or simplify the background to support the story and enhance your focal point.
🪵 Quick Wood Effect – Learn how to suggest texture and grain on a wooden surface with just a few brushstrokes.
