Class Description

Join me in this detailed painting class where we’ll capture the quiet stillness of a moored rowing boat resting peacefully after a day on the water. This scene is rich with reflective surfaces, interesting lighting, and subtle storytelling—perfect for developing your painting technique and eye for composition.

During the Class You Will Learn:

🎨 How to paint the reflections in the water to create natural movement and shimmer
How to render the planking of the boat for convincing depth and form
🌿 How to simplify the background while keeping it atmospheric and believable
🌞 How to brighten up the sunlit areas to bring the scene to life and create focal interest
🪶 What to leave out and what to add in for interest, balancing realism with artistic license

This class is a great opportunity to refine your handling of water, light, and man-made forms in a natural setting. By the end, you’ll have a painting full of charm, serenity, and strong visual storytelling.
