Class Description

Join me as we paint a charming rural scene—one that no longer exists in real life but lives on through the beauty of art. In this watercolor lesson, we’ll immortalize a peaceful countryside cottage at the foot of Botlierskop Hill in the Cape Province of South Africa, now replaced by a luxury lodge and game reserve.

This class is a wonderful opportunity to practice painting mood, light, and memory—combining loose, expressive brushwork with accurate landscape features to preserve a slice of the past.

In This Lesson You Will Learn:

🌤️ How to paint a soft, realistic sky that sets a calm atmosphere
⛰️ How to render distant hills with convincing atmospheric perspective
🏡 How to mix and apply colors to capture the aged textures of the house
🌾 How to simplify grassy foregrounds and trees without losing their natural charm

Why You'll Love This Class:

If you're drawn to peaceful rural landscapes or love capturing fleeting moments in nature, this lesson will help you develop the skills to tell stories with your art. With a focus on simplicity and emotion, you'll come away not just with a finished painting, but a preserved memory on paper.

Perfect for beginner to intermediate artists who want to develop both technical skill and storytelling ability.

Join now and celebrate the power of art to preserve beauty—even when the real world moves on.
